There is an updated cruise list on our website showing arrival and departure times of your ship. You need to be back onboard latest 30 minutes prior to departure.

Yes, we run the cruise ship excursions, so we always make sure you are back in time.

We have wheelchair accessible excursions, such as the ‘Open Top Glacier Sightseeing’ and the Loen Skylift including transfer. These buses have a low entrance ramp and designated space for wheelchairs.
The guided Troll Car Tour in Briksdal, Loen Lake and Kjenndal Glacier excursions can be accommodated only if you can walk short distances and have mobility to get in and out of the troll cars and the boat. These buses do not have a ramp for wheelchairs.
The Briksdal Glacier Shuttle bus is not suitable for wheelchair users. Plus, there is a 45-minute hike to the Glacier.

Yes, most of the cruise ships are in port long enough to have time for two excursions. The most popular is to combine the Loen Skylift with one of our glacier tours. You get a 10% discount on the booking of your second tour.

Yes, we have a ticket office on the pier where you can purchase tickets for available excursions. If there is a specific excursion or a specific time you would like to go, we recommend to prebook as tours can be sold out.

On the day of your arrival, you check in at our pre-booked desk located in the white tent at the pier next to our Olden Adventure office. If your ship is tendering, we will have a representative from Olden Adventure meet you at the tender point in Olden or Loen.

Customers will receive a full refund when cancelling 24 hours before the tour starts. Customers will also receive a full refund in case of operator cancellation due to weather circumstances or if the cruise ship is not coming to Olden for whatever reason.
Guided Troll Car Tour in Briksdal

The bus takes approximately 40 minutes each way. There is no toilet on the buses.

It takes approximately 15 minutes to walk to the glacier from where the Troll Cars stop. The walk starts with one steep uphill stretch and the rest of the walk is mostly on the flat. There are several benches where the Troll Cars stop if you feel unable to walk the rest of the way.

The ride up with the Troll Cars take around 10-15 minutes. The Troll Cars seat up to seven people in each car. You get a beautiful view of the Briksdal glacier during the Troll Car ride.

You have approximately 45 minutes from where the Troll Cars stop to do the walk and enjoy the views. Where the Troll Cars stop there are benches to sit down if you do not want to walk up to the glacier.

Briksdal Shuttle Bus

The bus takes approximately 40 minutes each way. There is no toilet on the buses.

The walk up to the glacier is about 3 km and takes approximately 45 minutes each way. The walking path up to the glacier consist of both steep uphill and flat pathways.

No, you must take the same bus back to Olden. The bus driver will tell you when you need to be back at the bus.

You will have approximately 2 hours to do the walk and enjoy the surroundings. Where the bus stops there is a souvenir shop and cafeteria, with toilets.
Open Top Glacier Sightseeing

The tour lasts about one hour and there are 3 stops in total. We stop at Løken Waterfall for approximately 10 minutes. Then we stop at a viewpoint where you can see the Melkevoll Glacier from a distance, for approximately 10 minutes. At the end of the tour, we stop in the town of Olden. Here you can hop-off and have a walk around town and catch the next bus back to the pier. The town is a 10-minute walk from the pier should you choose to walk back to the ship.

Loen Skylift + Transportation

When you buy the skylift tickets through our website or through Olden Adventure, the ticket includes transportation to the skylift.

The shuttle buses run about every 15 minutes from the pier. The bus journey takes about 10 minutes.

The lift up to the mountain top takes 5 minutes. You choose how long you want to stay at the top. Then you take the lift back down and catch one of the shuttle buses back to the pier in Olden.

It will always be busy at the Skylift when big ships are visiting Olden. Early morning and afternoon is the time of the day when it is less busy. Olden Adventure and Loen Skylift are in close co-operation and we always strive to keep the queues to less than one hour. There are a limited number of tickets for sale as a result of this.

Staff from Olden Adventure are always in contact with Loen Skylift at the end of the day to ensure that all customers have made it back down before the shuttle bus service stops. Last shuttle bus is scheduled to leave Loen Skylift 20 minutes before you must be back onboard.
